Kids march jokes
As kids across the country participate in the March for Our Lives events on March 24, 2018, there are sure to be plenty of jokes circulating amongst them. These jokes may serve as a way to cope with the seriousness of the event, to bond with others participating, or simply to pass the time while waiting for the march to begin.
Some jokes may be lighthearted, perhaps based on puns or wordplay. For example, one joke might be:
Q: Why did the tomato go to the march?
A: Because it wanted to ketchup with the cause!
Other jokes may be more satirical or critical, taking aim at politicians or the NRA. Here are a few examples:
Q: Why did the Congressman cross the road?
A: To get to the other side of the gun lobby.
Q: Why don’t guns like puns?
A: Because they always shoot the messenger.
Q: What’s the difference between a toaster and a gun?
A: You can make toast without fear of a mass shooting.
Regardless of the style or tone of the joke, it is important to remember the seriousness of the issues being addressed by the march. Kids may use humor to cope with tragedy, but they are also demonstrating a commitment to making the world a safer place for all.
