In the garden, there is always something to do. No matter what time of year it is, there are always flowers to see and trees to climb. Kids can enjoy the plant life cycle by doing fun and engaging activities. Some fun activities to do with kids include looking at the different stages of a flower, learning about the different parts of a tree, and counting leaves. Kids can also learn about different plants by reading about them or watching informational videos.
1. Observe the life cycle of a plant from germination to growth to flowering and finally to seed production.
2. Identify the different parts of a plant and learn about their functions.
3. Investigate how different plants use sunlight and water to grow.
4. Create a nature journal and record the different plants you see in your neighborhood or at the park.
5. Plant seeds in pots and watch them grow into plants.
6. Create a potting soil mix and plant various plants in it.
7. Make an herb garden and learn about the different herbs that grow there.
8. Collect leaves, flowers, and other plant materials and learn how to identify them.
