What is a Narrative Structure?
A narrative structure is a pattern of events that tells a story. It can be simple or complex, but it always has a beginning, a middle, and an end.
The main elements of a narrative structure are:
- The conflict. This is the thing that causes the story to unfold, and it’s usually based on something that the character wants.
- The protagonist. This is the person or thing that the conflict is focused on.
- The setting. This is where the story takes place and the characters interact.
- The climax. This is the turning point in the story, and it usually results in the resolution of the conflict.
- The denouement. This is the final chapter of the story, and it’s usually a resolution of the conflict.
