When it comes to two-year-olds, it’s all about having fun! So why not give these ten fun games a try?
1. Memory Matching Game: Give each child a set of cards with pictures on them. Have them match the pictures on their own cards to those on the other player’s cards. The object of the game is to get as many matches as possible in a set amount of time.
2. Make Way for Ducklings: This game is all about cooperation. One player is the duck, and the other player is the swan. The swan then has to move around the room: trying to find the duck. If they can find the duck, they get to eat her. If they can’t find the duck, they move on to the next player.
3. Old MacDonald Had a Farm: This classic game is a lot of fun for both young and old! Players take turns playing the farmer, and each must do whatever the farmer says. (This game can get a bit silly, so be prepared!)
4. I’m a Bunny: This game is all about cooperation. One player is the bunny, and the other player is the hunter. The hunter then has to move around the room: trying to find the bunny. If they can find the bunny, they get to eat her. If they can’t find the bunny, they move on to the next player.
5. Teatime: For this game, each player needs a set of small cups and a tea set. The players take turns pouring tea into their cups. The first player to finish their cup wins.
6. Spin the Bottle: This game is a lot of fun for both young and old! Players take turns picking a card from a deck. If the card they pick matches the number on the bottle that’s sitting on the table, they take a sip from the bottle. If the number on the bottle doesn’t match the card they picked, they put the bottle back on the table. The first player to finish their cup wins.
7. Hangman: Players take turns guessing letters from a word. If they guess the letter that’s hanging down, they get to take a step closer to the next letter. If they guess the letter that’s in the middle of the word, they lose a step. The first player to finish their letter wins.
8. Chalkboard Race: This game is all about speed. Players take turns writing a word on the chalkboard. The first player to finish their word wins.
9. Tic Tac Toe: This classic game is a lot of fun for both young and old! Players take turns placing a Tic Tac Toe square on the board. If they place it in the same spot as the previous square, they get to take a step forward. If they place it in a spot that’s different from the previous square, they lose a step. The first player to get all of their squares in the same spot wins.
10. Pin the Tail on the Donkey: This game is all about memory. Players take turns drawing a card from a deck. The card has a picture of a donkey on it. They then have to put a pin in the corresponding spot on the donkey’s tail. The first player to finish their donkey wins.
